  Dr Carneiro spent more time talking to me about what he thinks is wrong with my thumb/hand/wrist than listening to me describe the physical ailments I've been suffering from over three years now. All he did is interrupt and question my methods. Not Listen to the patients problems. I asked him to order an MRI to better see whats happening to this extremity. Instead he provided an X-Ray. An X-Ray won't be able to show muscular or tendon damage. I'm very concerned about tendon and ligament damage at this point. I have a massive bump on the knuckle for three years. I'm 36 years old and don't think cutting my hand open at this early point in my life is a good idea, (Carnerio does though). I'm risking loosing the joint for the remainder of my life if he cuts the pulley which holds the tendon in place. This would mean when I'm 45 to 50 years of age I'd have to fuse the joint. (Scary) Dr Carnerio has displayed nothing less than arrogance by acting in a cocky, know it all type manner. When I asked for a wrist brace combined with a thumb brace to prevent the triggering or locking of my thumb he refused to provide me with a prescription which would provide me with a better type brace than that which is available at the local CVS or Publix. Clearly Carnerio doesn't care about his patients being comfortable while wearing the brace or he'd order a more comfortable brace for me. He refused to do this. I've tried the over the counter brace and I have to say; very uncomfortable. I asked him his thoughts of Prolo therapy. Apparently being in the medical field isn't enough for Carnerio to stay current with modern day medicine. Carnerio denounced using Prolo therapy for treatment and instead recommended cutting the pulley which holds the tendon in place. Prolotherapy has been the only medicine that has taken away 90% of the pain. Nothing Carnerio did helped with the pain. I feel disappointed. Dr Carnerio is not a current top rated doctor. He's top rated on the internet because of his well spent marketing dollars and certifications which he paid for. He's very cocky and his methods are dated. My observation of Carnerio is; this is a doctor who is very close to retirement, maybe as little as five years from now he'll be retired. Carnerio isn't a long term type thinker when it comes to the care of my thumb. What I clearly see is a doctor who's trying to make a quick buck off an operation which isn't necessary without keeping my long term medical situation in mind. 1-I'm looking for a doctor who has my long term interests in mind. 2- I'm looking for a doctor who wants to order an MRI to look at the possibility of ligament or muscle damage. 3-I'm looking for a doctor who will write a prescription for a brace that is readily available at many different orthopedic supply stores that I visited. I don't recommend this doctor for anyone who has long term concerns ex; 10 to 15 years after carnerio cuts your hand what will your consequences be? Poor customer or patient service. Very scary that someone is legally able to practice medicine when he doesn't care about the people he's practicing medicine on.
